Now they basically look like one big complex (although the second one still has distinction). Doppler estimates 5.1" so far, as it often seems, there is flooding to go along with the tornado.

Back edge of the cell looks to be back building.

BR4 (prior image showed the difference between 1 and 4 better)

Also, looks like a weak BWER there, too.

MESO now indicated where that BWER was in the prior image.

Check out BR4 also. I think this will be warned soon.

Here is what my good friend Justin had to say over on Stormtrack:

I was chasing near Northwood and spotted a funnel in the area around 8:30 and then got the hell out of there as the situation was looking ugly. A white knuckle drive all the way back to GFK with the tornado following. Looks like she will stay south of GFK. Another cell with robust rotation in Thief River Falls area.

Listening to scanner traffic and emergency responders heading toward Northwood with GFK hospital on alert.

Funnel west of Northwood at around 8:30...

Nice pic. I have seen a couple that looked like that. One did touch down about 5 miles to the north of me after it passed by. You never forget those.
Fortunately, that one touched down in the woods.

That cell is finally warned, even if it was just extended west instead of a new one.

Uhh. That does not look pretty. Hopefully everybody's all right. Any additional reports from Northwood?

WDAZ has some coverage on their web page now. Several trailer homes took some pretty significant damage it sounds like, lots of trees and power lines down in town. Rescue crews on the scene. They are having trouble getting into town given the secondary heavy rain/tornado warning that moved through and the power lines issue.

NORTHWOOD, N.D. A tornado touched down Sunday night in Northwood, causing extensive damage and at least one fatality, officials said.

The tornado touched down between 8:50 p.m. and 8:52 p.m. and caused heavy damage in the Valley View trailer parks, two side-by-side parks on the north end of town, according to emergency officials. One person was killed in that trailer park, a fire official said, and more casualties are possible there.

Railroad cars being blown off of the tracks is usually a sign of EF3+ damage elsewhere in the tornado path. It takes very intense winds to get cars to tip over.

Let's hope for the best for those trailer courts, because it sounds like there is very little left.

shoot. :( Not good. Unfortunately, given the radar presentation, I'm not surprised really. I really hope there aren't any more fatalities.

It's 4 AM, SPC indicates that at this point, the ML cap is over 200 J/kg, and yet we have this beast rolling through the open country of south-central North Dakota.
